Individual Travel Plan - Eternal Journey Home by Inman

If a participant dies 75 miles or more from their legal residence, the Travel Plan by Inman provides assistance. That includes locating a local licensed funeral home, mortuary, or direct disposition facility; arranging and paying to transport the body from the place of death to a licensed funeral transport; purchasing the minimum casket or air tray needed for transportation; arranging transportation to the local funeral home; and securing the required documents, including one death certificate.

Inman Shipping Worldwide provides these return-of-remains services when a participant is 75 miles or more from their legal residence, or in a country other than their country of residence. All services must be arranged by Inman Shipping Worldwide. No claims for reimbursement will be accepted. Enrollment is not valid until the Travel Plan Administrative Center has received payment and issued an enrollment number.

“Legal residence,” for this plan, means the participant’s fixed, full-time home. The plan may ask for documents or other information to verify where the participant lived at the time of death and before it. If a participant physically lives at an address for 180 days or more during the 12 months before death, that address is treated as the legal address, rather than the address on file. A nursing home is the legal residence if the participant stays there for 180 days or more.

If a participant enrolls while away from their legal residence, the plan does not take effect until they have returned to that residence and then travel again.

The Travel Plan does not cover medical tourism.
