If someone dies on a cruise
A cruise is not a separate add-on. It counts if the person dies 75 miles or more from their legal residence, which almost every cruise does. A cruise in another country counts for that reason too.
Call 1-800-321-0566 before the family hires a funeral home in the port or pays to fly the body. We contact a funeral home near the place of death, handle the paperwork including one death certificate, and arrange the trip to the funeral home at home. If the family pays those bills first, the plan does not reimburse them.
