What 75 miles from home means
The plan pays to bring someone home only if they die 75 miles or more from their legal residence. Dying at home does not qualify. A trip across town does not qualify.
Legal residence is the place they actually live full time, not a mailing address or a house they own but do not live in. If they have lived somewhere else for 180 days or more in the year before they die, that address counts instead. A nursing home counts the same way after 180 days.
Another country counts too, even when the mileage is not the point. Call the service center first at 1-800-321-0566. We arrange the trip. We do not pay you back for bills you already paid.
